I'm Steven Verbruggen, Belgian new marketing / cross-media professional currently working at Nascom as an interactive strategy maven.
I bridge the gap between marketing and technology. On this personal blog I talk about trends, implementations, best practices, .. on this subject.
If you read my previous post you know what the Age of conversation is about: a collaborative book written by bloggers all over the globe. My previous post was about the 2th edition in which I will contribute.
The first edition was published last year and is finally available on Amazon. Today is Bum Rush day, meaning people are encouraged to buy the book today, so it will appear in Amazon’s top picks.
Why should you buy the book? Well to start it’s damn good, but also because profits go to charity. So you do something good by buying something good.
If you want to buy the book, please do so by following this Amazon link.
You can also contribute by digging the story: Digg here!
This said: I have the book already, bought it last year. But to support the bum rush I’m buying an extra copy. Since I do have the book, I will give it away, TO YOU! So the first one who comments he or she wants in, got it! A little treat from me to you
I sometimes have the feeling I’m not challenged enough. I wanna create things, think things trough, write them down. Time obviously is a factor, but it’s an excuse as well. You’ll have to make time right, simply have to, or vanish in live Twittering again is as much as a solution as it is a problem: sure it’s easier and less time consuming, sure you build your network .. but twitter mainly is effective and not really challenging you to really thing.
Last year I found a challenge in the new marketing FAQ, and I truly loved doing this.
But good news (at least for me) since I forced myself into something new! I’m co-author of the second age of conversation, the group writing experiment that kicked of big last year. In short: a group of bloggers wrote a book together, and they’re going to do it again. This year I’m taking part.
I still have to thank the Glue guys. Remember the X-mas cards? Glue made a little quiz where you could win some Semelflex Slippers. And yes, I’ve won a pair
My god, there is so much wrong with this .. - Happy new year .. we’re February :-/ - I’m on their list, but I don’t know them. No worries, happens al the time - The first thing they literally tell me is I’m on their list .. and thanks to some law I’m allowed to unsubscribe. Thank god for that! - But if I try to unsubscribe I got this message: "Cannot connect to Database, please check your configuration". Fuck you! - This "legal" text is actually longer than the message - The copy sucks big time .. as well in the other languages (there are 4) - It’s just plain ugly - ..
Good job CYCLONE BELGIUM! Also good to see you find yourself important enough for capitals.
If you haven’t heard about the age of conversation, it’s a collaborative project where bloggers all around globe contributed to write a book together. A collection of the most interesting one pagers. The book is printed on demand by Lulu, and profits are donated to charity. It’s a grassroot project, but I think it’s fair to say Drew McLellan and Gavin Heaton are more or less the fathers of the project.
Today, a new book project is about to start, read all about it on Drew’s blog. I decided to contribute, and looking forward to do so!
Good news, you can help deciding on the subject, so cast your vote. You can choose between: Marketing Manifesto, Why Don’t People Get It? and My Marketing Tragedy (and what I learned)
We all get loads of x-mas and new year cards these days. Good to see a lot of them are digital and pretty creative. Here’s a selection of cards I received or stumled upon.
Pioneer Nicely designed and executed in flash, if I may say this, because we made this card at These Days.
Glue I love the idea .. a quiz to win Semelflex slippers. By Glue.
Delhaize Place your star (and firework) above your recepients house. Nice Google Maps integration by our Belgian Agency.com colleagues.
Nascom Flex and video upload/streaming. You guys keep on rocking Nascom!
