I just read in Wired magazine about The Big Word Project. People can buy words at 1$ / letter.
Fun idea, I just bought the word “context“.
Why context? Because in my mind context will be the single most important concept in marketing and advertising the coming years.
Remember MacGuiver. Well, you ain’t seen nothing yet, because now there is McGuider. This tough ass navigation hero finds his way .. the easy way. And so can you!
McGuider is a Memory card you simply have to plug in your (gps enabled) cellphone to convert it to a navigation system. Actually worlk great, you can see it in action here.
McGuider campaign developed by These Days (the company I work for) for Tele Atlas.
to blog about this.
1 campaign and 1 movie
Create your perfect Harley Davidson weekend. Kudos to Michael Thuy an his team at McCann Erickson, it is a nice campaign.
An experience site were you can create your ideal trip, and based on this a Harley is recommended. Good idea and good execution.
I don’t drive a bike however, so for an expert opinion you should ask ibert.
Then here’s a video about the new Zita portal (Belgium). The video illustrates on a fun way you can now customize the portal as you like. Nothing new indeed, but a fun way to create awareness for this concept.
Copy: Don’t feel like sport? From now on you can select the content on Zita yourself.
What better way to express joy? I love this commercial. It intensifies the promises of the Cadbury Dairy Milk brand.
Twitter is more than talking to your friends and followers. It’s also a good tool to communicate a product or service to a large bunch of people (that you don’t know just yet). But how do you communicate to this people who don’t follow you? Simple: follow them. They’ll get an email someone is following them, and if they’re not a hot shot like Joseph Jaffe of Guy Kawasaki with 1000ths of followers, they’re probably intrigued and want to check out who and what. At least I am.
Example, today I got the message WPZOOM started to follow me. It’s not that I started to follow back instantly, but at least I checked out the twitter page and the website: wpzoom.com. It’s a website about wordpress themes and so on. Quite nice it seems.
So what can be learned:
- Following people can be a good way to intrigue people and make a conversion later on.
- However, make sure you target your target group. It’s too easy to just start following all kind of people. You need to have a connection with the audience.
- Also take care about your twitter page. The tweets you post, the image you choose, the description .. they all build up on your image, and you only get one chance.
So a nice way to communicate, it’s kind of neath: you follow someone and don’t force anyone to do something back. Now let’s hope this won’t be used by spammers to frequently ..
Find our own identity, I guess ..
