I'm Steven Verbruggen, Belgian new marketing / cross-media professional currently working at Nascom as an interactive strategy maven.
I bridge the gap between marketing and technology. On this personal blog I talk about trends, implementations, best practices, .. on this subject.
When I got the word and blogged about it I had contact with one of the masterminds behind the project: Paddy Donnelly (aka the viral guy). I told him if he was ever in Belgium he should call me and we could meet for a drink. Since a Irish guy never refuses any drinks, and he happens to be in Belgium we met Wednesday and had a couple of Duvels.
Actually Paddy and his pal are going to the Werchter festival the following days, so that’s part of the reason they are here. The other was he’s crossing Europe to meet people who bought words (or Wordee’s as he calls it). Doing a little interview about the word, having a chat .. I had an excellent time Wednesday night. I dropped the guys at the only (private) camping open the night for the festival, and got to know they survived the day after
I even got my $7 back back since Paddy paid the drinks. Money well spend
On Mix essentials they showed this great video about the use of al kind of Microsoft stuff in your live. Earlier today, we were talking about this video (I was inspired by it) but I couldn’t find it online. Luckily Katrien De Graeve came to the rescue and she pointed me to Miels blog. Here’s the video!
Well, I just saw at Kris that the sequel is coming up. To promote this new movie (called "Inspiration, anyone?") a teaser was released. Really .. a teaser, with the proper voice-over and everything.
Kudo’s to Geert Desager from Microsoft (hope you enjoy Asia). As well to the production company Caviar an the agency Open Here. Rumor has it this wouldn’t be so great without a certain guy named Mathias. Long live the account manager, so take him to the shooting next time
I had the opportunity to see Steve Balmer perform live on stage twice the last couple of months. First at MIX08 in Vegas in March, and last month at the Mix essentials conference in Belgium. I enjoyed both times. Some good entertainment, some good business insights. He knows his stuff and best of all, he’s very passionate about it!
One of the new things Steve Balmer does is shout his email address all over the place. Proving the new and more open Microsoft. Interesting, and that’s what I checked out. So I sent him an email, and got a response!
Remember MacGuiver. Well, you ain’t seen nothing yet, because now there is McGuider. This tough ass navigation hero finds his way .. the easy way. And so can you!
McGuider is a Memory card you simply have to plug in your (gps enabled) cellphone to convert it to a navigation system. Actually worlk great, you can see it in action here.
Create your perfect Harley Davidson weekend. Kudos to Michael Thuy an his team at McCann Erickson, it is a nice campaign. An experience site were you can create your ideal trip, and based on this a Harley is recommended. Good idea and good execution. I don’t drive a bike however, so for an expert opinion you should ask ibert.
Then here’s a video about the new Zita portal (Belgium). The video illustrates on a fun way you can now customize the portal as you like. Nothing new indeed, but a fun way to create awareness for this concept.
